HomeSAINTS MOVING GUIDES

What to do when moving day plans change

When moving plans change, contact the person coordinating the removal as soon as possible. Explain what changed, what is confirmed and what remains uncertain before agreeing the next step.

Keys are delayed

Keep the removal coordinator informed and ask the person responsible for key release for an update. Check the agreed waiting and date-change terms. Do not promise a delivery time until access is confirmed. If overnight arrangements become necessary, discuss options and costs before committing.

Parking or lift access is unavailable

Tell the removal team and building manager promptly. Identify a safe, permitted alternative if one exists. Do not obstruct emergency routes or assume the team can use an unsuitable lift or parking area. Different access may change the work and timing.

Packing is not finished

Separate the remaining rooms and estimate the work involved. Ask whether additional help is available and what it would cost; do not assume it is included. Keep essentials and items that are not moving clearly apart from the load.

Furniture will not fit

Stop and reassess the route with the removal team. Check whether agreed dismantling is possible. Avoid forcing furniture through a tight opening or improvising a hazardous route. Our measuring checklist helps identify these concerns earlier.

There is a gap between properties

You may choose to book independent storage, subject to availability and its own terms. Check access, opening hours and restrictions before booking. Saints can discuss transport to and from storage as separate removal stages.

Reduce last-minute surprises

Review your inventory, access, keys and contact numbers before the move. Use our moving checklist and notify Saints when circumstances change.
